The article shows, through rigorous argument, why existing ideas about consciousness are generally incorrect.  It shows why consciousness cannot be physical and, also, why it cannot even have a physical cause.  So far as I am aware, no other argument actually demonstrates these things.

The second part of the article  shows a paradox, concerning the relationship between consciousness and wider reality.  This leads to a radical conclusion about philosophical problems in general.
